Reading Rep Theatre Offer

Reading Rep Theatre, Reading's multi-award-winning professional theatre, are thrilled to be launching a new youth theatre in partnership with Reading Borough Council and Brighter Futures for Children. This project is funded by the Great Places Scheme and Arts Council England.

Reading Rep's high quality and award-winning youth theatre provision is specifically designed for neurodiverse and neurotypical young people who want to improve their drama and acting skills in a safe and inclusive environment with like-minded people. Children and young people will have the opportunity to improve their vocal and acting skills, enhance confidence and self-esteem and, most importantly, have fun! From our home at Reading Studio in Reading College, Reading Rep run a huge array of classes to cater for all abilities, running at different times:

 

Monday Youth Theatre

Minis: 8-10 year olds

Juniors: 11-13 year olds

Seniors: 14 - 19 year olds

All of these classes are designed for children and young people, and also caters for those with mild learning abilities and/or additional needs. The course costs just £60 per term and there are bursaries available for people who may not be able to afford it.

 

Tuesday Young Company - ages 16 - 24

6pm - 8.30pm

Our young company has been selected to take part in various national youth festivals. It is designed for people who are serious about a career in the performing arts. The young people create their own work and have total ownership of the company. The young company also caters for those with mild learning abilities and/or additional needs. The programme costs just £60 per term and there are bursaries available for people who may not be able to afford it.

 

Saturday Short Breaks Provision - ages 16 - 25

11am - 1pm

These classes are totally free and are designed for neurodiverse young people. It caters for those with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or additional needs. Please contact us directly to discuss your particular needs.
