Health Services

There are many Health Services available to support children with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. In Reading, some of these services are provided by the Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (BHFT) and some are provided by the Royal Berkshire Hospital Trust (RBH)

Children's Services - 0-18

There are a range of services available to families through Brighter Futures for Children, where they can offer support and help, and you don’t have to be in a crisis to ask for this help.

Universal help for children and families can be accessed by contacting the Family Information Service - 0118 9373777 (option 2) or visit www.readingfis.org

Specialist help and support can be accessed through Early Help by contacting the Children's Action Teams using their Early Help Assessment or by calling 0118 9373641. Further information & Support can be found here Information for Parents and Carers

The Children and Young People’s Disabilities Team assesses and supports children and young people between the ages of 0-18. The team comprises of Social Care professionals and Occupational Therapists.

Adult Services - 18+

From the age of 18-25 young adults are supported by the Adult Social Care Team. Tel: 0118 9373747
