Riding for the Disabled (RDA)

Special Needs Riding Sessions

Riding for the disabled (RDA), provide therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities all over the UK.  Their network of 500 volunteer groups organise activities such as riding, carriage driving, vaulting and show jumping to up to 28,000 people each year. They have been carrying out life-changing activities for over 40 years, and take great pride in the exceptional standard of their instructors and volunteers (18,000 in all). They offer activities for all age groups and, wherever possible, to people with any disability – and you’re just as likely to find an RDA Group in an urban setting as a rural one. Visit their website to find your local group. http://www.rda.org.uk/rda-groups/

We cover Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire and have 49 groups within those counties. The groups vary in size and facilities, and offer riding and/or carriage driving for adults and/or children.  All instructors have to meet RDA National standards and work closely with physiotherapists to ensure that every individual is encouraged to participate as fully as possible and obtain a sense of achievement.
