The team is responsible for allocating school places at Primary and Secondary school for Reading children moving for the first time into these stages of education. The team also processes applications for children moving to new schools in Reading.  These are called In Year Admissions.

Other notes

Please note that children start primary school the September following their four birthday which means parents must apply for a school place the January before they start so they could still be only three at that time. Please check the website for key dates that are important when making an application.

Feedback and complaints procedure
All schools have a complaints procedure in place so you should intially check with your individual school. If you wish to complain about the service provided by us you can do so through the Reading Borough Council Complaints procedure. If you are unhappy about the school that has been allocated to you then you are entitled to have your case considered by an independent appeal panel.
