Early Years Private, Voluntary & Independent Settings

Description

I offer a home from home setting with lots of resources for all age groups.

I have a playroom with numerous age appropriate resources available.

We regularly do visits to local parks, farms and toddler groups.

Updated November 2023

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

By carrying out regular observations and progress reports. This flags up any areas of concern of development. I use an online tracker system that can flag up areas of concern

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

I use an online system for most of my communication but I am also available to talk briefly in person at drop and collection times and also via what’s app or text.

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

I will adapt and amend the EYFS depending on the individual child and their needs. I follow care plans and the LA recommendations along with any EHCP that may be in place.

4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?

This is assessed on an individual basis and will follow any IEP, EHCP or care plan set out for the child.

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

This is child dependant as every child is unique. But I will follow all regulations set out for each child and ensure all the children’s needs are met.

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

I use an online system called Baby's Days which tracks and monitors the children's progress,  I carry out regular reviews with parents to ensure that they are fully aware of their child’s development.

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

All trips I run are all inclusive for the children in my care. Trips are planned with each child in my care in mind to ensure each child is thriving in my care.

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

Unfortunately the property is not wheel chair accessible.

The house is accessed via 2 small steps and the garden is accessed via a large step down.

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

I work closer with the local schools and track the children's progress. I use a ready for school sheet to ensure the children will be able to have a smooth transition to school. I arrange for the schools and preschools to come and visit my setting to ease transition for the child.

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

I offer regular feedback and questionnaires which I actively encourage all parents to take part in so I can reflect and ensure I am meeting all the children’s individual needs.

11: Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?

Sarah Napper on 07852 147725 or on Sarah.napper@talk21.com

I will get back in touch with you as soon as I can.

12: What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?

I carry out regular questionnaires and parent and children satisfaction surveys. Any complaints or compliments can be raised in person or electronically using Baby's days. I am reachable by WhatsApp and phone.
