Kennel Lane School

Kennel Lane School is a maintained Special School for children and young people with learning difficulties and associated disabilities. All learners who attend Kennel Lane School have an Education, Health and Care Plan. We are able to accommodate up to 198 learners within our school, aged between 3 and 19 years.

 

Our vision is that Kennel Lane School will enables our learners to understand the world around them, to become fulfilled individuals and active and compassionate citizens by providing an innovative and valuable education.

Our mission is that our learners will enjoy learning, engage, make progress, and achieve. In order that they are fulfilled individuals we will encourage them to strive to live safe, healthy, and rewarding lives. We encourage our learners to become active and compassionate citizens. We focus on ensuring that every learner can make a positive contribution to society and that they respect each other and recognise and celebrate our individuality. Our priority is to offer an innovative and valuable education and one in which everyone will contribute to co-producing outcomes that are relevant and achievable in order that our learners are next stage ready.

 

Our shared ethos is founded on collaboration, positivity and is solution focussed. In practice, this means we will: Make time to listen, compromise, try to understand and we will smile and encourage. Further we will notice our learners, we will value and appreciate them, and we will treat everyone with dignity. We will keep each other safe and free from emotional and physical harm and we will learn together and forever. We will challenge and we will persevere, and we strive to innovate and lead. We are also reflective, and we will share, celebrate and reward achievements.
