Victims First
Victims First was launched in June 2018 and provides free emotional and therapeutic support to victims of crime across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
The service enables a one front door approach for all victims, witnesses and family members of victims to access support following a crime regardless of the crime type, whether it has been reported to the police or not, and when and where it took place.
The service can support victims of any crime including domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, harassment, cyber-crime, fraud, theft, burglary and exploitation.
Victims will have access to a range of services including:
- Telephone support
- Face to face support
- Advocacy, including help to access other services such as : sexual health clinics, drug and alcohol services and legal services
- Support through the criminal justice system
- Therapeutic counselling
They may also be referred to a Victims First specialist service depending on their needs. This includes specialist support for young victims and male and female victims of sexual violence.
