My name is Julie McDonagh, I am a registered childminder, and having been doing it for over 13 years, I'm first aid trained, I'm open Monday to Friday 7.30am till 5.00pm i also take the 2 3 & 4 year old funding

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

To help me understand all my children's needs, I offer home visits, ask parents to fill in a all out about me form, use a tracking system and do a daily diary, and work with parents. 

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

I will fill a daily diary to keep parents up to date, and regular review the tracker books, and of course a lot of communication with the parent 

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

This happens using observations to help set next steps, advice from professionals, and follow the Children's interests 

4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?

I will work with the parents and all professionals involved with the child to create a plan suited to the child 

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

Point parents to the right agencies that offer support and advice, work with early years team and other professionals 

visit the toy library 

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

Observations in child's learning journals, use the early years outcome/ development matters two year check 

create next steps 

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

Have a wide range of different aged children used to adapting activities to include all of the children being cared for, 

use of a daily risk assessments 

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

Very accessible 

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

Prepare child for school and additional settings by :

build good relationships , talking about using books and pictures, visits with child, sharing information 

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

Getting feedback from parents, Ofsted self evaluation, action plan
