Age UK Reading launches Chess Course and Club

Age UK Reading is working in partnership with Chess in Schools and the Community and Cafe Alive at the Grange United Reformed Church (Circuit Lane, RG30 3HD) in Southcote to run a 10 week chess course for older people.

The course will be suitable for complete beginners and take them through the basics to a good understanding of the game.

The course will be run alongside Cafe Alive in Southcote where players will be able to buy homemade cake and cappuccinos before or after the sessions.

The course launches on Wednesday 27th September and runs from 15:45 to 17:00

The course costs £20 for a 10 week term.

If you are already a seasoned player and don't fancy the course you can express an interest in joining the group in December where we hope to continue as a weekly drop in chess club.

A poster is attached. Please promote this opportunity to anyone you think may be interested.
