There's no need to feel lonely and isolated at home - there are lots of social and activity clubs which provide opportunities for you to get out, meet new friends and take part in activities you enjoy.
Many clubs and groups are for people of all ages - search this directory for the activity you are looking for.
Other groups are just for older people and/or adults with disabilities.
There's lots of choice - for example you could:
- join a social group - like a lunch club, tea club, "knit and natter" group or Mens Shed's group
- join a hobby or interest group - like a singing club, or arts and crafts
- take part in an exercise class or join a walking club
- take a course or class to learn something new
Some organisations provide supported day services for people with a higher level care and support needs. These offer the opportunity to socialise with others, take part in a range of activities and any personal care and support you need during the course of the session.
