Emergency Plan and Reading Carers Card

You may be eligible for a carers card and emergency plan

The Carers Card and Emergency Plan help make others aware that somebody is dependent on you. Having a carers card and emergency plan can be useful if you need support or assistance when you’re out and about and to let others know who to contact in case of an emergency.

The card can also act as an ID card, but it does need an emergency contact on it.  So for instance it may be useful in the Royal Berkshire Hospital to show staff that you are an unpaid carer.

The Carers card and Emergency Plan is free for unpaid carers of all ages in Reading and West Berkshire.

Your nominated person’s contact details will be added to the back of the card.
