Attendance Allowance for people over 65

Attendance Allowance is a benefit for people aged 65 or over who have a physical disability (including sensory disability, e.g. blindness), a mental disability (including learning difficulties), or both and their disability is severe enough for them to need help caring for themselves or someone to supervise them for their own or someone else's safety.

It is paid at 2 different rates and how much you get depends on the level of care that you need because of your disability.

Attendance Allowance can be paid to people who live alone. 

The other benefits you get can increase if you get Attendance Allowance.

You could get extra Pension Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction if you get Attendance Allowance.  Check with the helpline or office dealing with your benefit.
