Reading Play

Reading Play

After School Clubs & Holiday Playclubs

Reading Play After School Club and Holiday Playclubs are full childcare facilities for children aged 4 years old (in full time education) to 12 year old (up to their 13th birthday). Children are fully supervised within an open play service, and enjoy a variety of safe and exciting activities in comfortable surroundings. All the activities we offer abide by the Reading Play principles, encouraging fun activities that aim to meet learning objectives in a controlled, safe environment.

All of our childcare provisions strive to create a happy and enjoyable atmosphere. We want everyone to feel welcome and every child treated as an individual to feel supported and respected. We encourage and appreciate children's and parent's ideas, suggestions or thoughts and have numerous ways available for these to be expressed. Children of course may choose their own activities but additional sessions are set up to support learning needs and engage children mentally and physically. For example, a club may work on healthy lifestyle or an upcoming cultures festival and participate in activities and discussions to support the topic.

Each team consists of experienced and qualified staff that meets the national standards for childcare. Qualifications include NVQ’s in play work and/or childcare, food hygiene, safeguarding and paediatric first aid.
