Reading Information, Advice & Support Service for SEND

Reading IASS logo

Reading Information, Advice & Support Service for SEND (Reading IASS) offers free confidential and impartial information, advice and support about education, health and social care to Reading parents and carers who have children (up to the age of 25) with special educational needs or disability. We also support children and young people in their own right.

Helpline open during term time: Monday 9.30-2.30pm; Wednesday 9.30am-2.30pm; Friday 9.30am-2.30pm but you can leave a message at any time. During school holidays we cover the service on a rota, without fixed helpline hours. At all times of the year calls are returned within two working days.

Referral Details

We are a self-referral service; all that is required is a telephone call from the parent/carer, child or young person. Because of our impartiality policy and the need to operate at arm's length we do not accept direct referrals from third parties, however we will work with third parties to find ways to support parents who might struggle to make contact with us. We do not operate a waiting list, but we are a small service experiencing high levels of demand.
