Sadaka
Sadaka is a non-profit charity based in Reading with an ethos of giving without judgement or bias. Working within Greater Reading, we aim to provide free lunches, groceries, books, clothes, toiletries and sign posting to other local services, to those who are struggling financially, while promoting good relations and understanding amongst our local community.
Sadaka is operated solely by volunteers. We provide free lunch every Saturday, at Fairview Community Centre, 90b Great Knollys Street, RG1 7HL, between 11:45 am -12:45 noon. Hot meal and beverages, snacks and fruit. No surplus food handed out but we occasionally give milk, coffee or toiletries. We run a wellbeing session from 10 to 11.20 am before our meal service where we offer arts and crafts and a quiet space with free beverages. All welcome. Adults only.
If you are facing hardship or going through tough times, Sadaka can support you by providing a freshly cooked hot meal, long-life food, and a nice chat with a friendly team of volunteers.
Also, our wellbeing sessions where we do arts and crafts, are open to everyone from 10 to 11.30 am on Saturdays just before our meal.
