The Owl Centre - Berkshire

For Children's Independent Therapy including Art Therapy

How the process works

If you are a parent, a grandparent or a guardian who has a concern about their child, feel free to contact us for a free telephone consultation.

No formal referral is required. Simply telephone or email us, providing a description of your child’s needs, and we will find a relevant therapist who can help you. If you are not sure what kind of therapist would be best suited to see your child, we can advise you.

Your child may or may not be already known to the NHS services. Either way, many people choose private therapy to top up what they already receive; to beat the waiting list; for a second opinion; or simply for more therapy ideas. We feel strongly that as you are the child’s main source of development, it is very important that you have a wide range of activities or exercises that you know will help, and an array of ‘tricks up your sleeve’ that you can incorporate into that spare 5 or 10 minutes during the day.

Types of Appointments:

Assessments

  • Initial Assessments
  • Follow-up Assessments (Reviews)
  • Second Opinion assessments

Therapy

  • Tailor-made therapy programmes to meet your child's individual needs. These are generally conducted in-house or through school or home visits.
  • Advice SessionsThe Owl Centre is happy to implement a therapy programme from a current NHS report or enhance the activities written in the child’s ‘My Plan’.

Meetings we can attend:

  • TAC meetings
  • Case conferences
  • Annual reviews
  • IEP meetings
  • My Plan meetings
