Maternity Care Coffee Morning - Monday 20th February
Cowshed Charity would like to invite new mothers who have given birth at Royal Berkshire Hospital to a coffee morning organised in partnership with the Royal Berkshire Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP), an NHS working group dedicated to improving local maternity services.
The MVP is committed to listening to and working with communities who have had a poorer experience with maternity care. They believe it is important to break down the barriers, including racism, that can lead to poorer outcomes in maternity care. They will be present at the coffee morning to listen to the experiences of mothers and work with them to improve maternity care in our community.
As part of their efforts, the MVP has parent representatives and a budget from the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) to compensate individuals for their time or offer vouchers as an incentive. In addition, the Cowshed Charity will be providing a goody bag for each mother who attends the coffee morning. Mothers are welcome to bring their children and babies with them. The MVP is also looking for community members to join them as parent reps and directly help with their work. Parent reps can be involved as little or as much as they would like, fitting it around their families, and can gain new skills and add to their CV.
We believe this coffee morning will be a great opportunity for local mothers to see what the Cowshed Charity does and the support we provide, as well as meet other mothers in the community.
We have attached an online invitation to RSVP to, or you can contact us directly to confirm attendance. Please RSVP by Wednesday 15th February so that we can ensure enough refreshments are provided.
