Martial Arts in Reading - COME ALONG TO A FREE TASTER SESSION
At White Oak Aikido Reading, we run classes in the martial art of Aikido on Tuesdays. We offer a rolling eight-week Aikido beginners' course, so you can start when it's convenient for you. Originating in Japan, Aikido is a modern martial art based on traditional arts used in battle by samurai warriors. Highly relevant in today's high-stress, confrontational world, Aikido teaches evasion techniques and taking control of an attacker's power to take them down into a throw or immobilisation. Training in Aikido can improve your co-ordination, fitness, flexibility and reaction speed.
Aikido classes run on Tuesdays at 20:00-21:30 at the Caversham Heights Methodist Church Hall. After your free taster class, you can join our eight-week beginners' course for only £60 (waged) or £50 (unwaged), which includes insurance and access to our online training materials. But first, just come along and try a free, no-obligation, no hard-sell, taster session. (You must be over 18 to train with us.)
Martial arts in Knighton at our Whitton Aikido dojo and Qigong classes in Craven Arms are also available.
