Hello my name is Kellie Fairchild and I am a Level 3 early years educator/ level 4 Sendco and Oftsed registered childminder. I am the manager of Welly Boot Lodge Childminding, combining Montessori education with forest school concepts to promote each area of a child's development within the early years foundation stage. I have over 18 years of experience and I am mum to two children. I am a safeguard lead specialising in Special educational needs. I hold many qualifications including a paediatric first aid certificate. I very much look forward to offering all prospective children an outstanding education within a caring and nurturing environment.

Description
Welly Boot Lodge is a Childminding setting offering places for full time childcare and pre school sessions. Welly Boot lodge combines the Montessori method with forest schooling to provide children with the best foundations to learn upon. Children who attend Welly Boot Lodge will be seen as individuals and their progress within their learning and development will be monitored closely to make sure each child develops within the early years foundation stage prime and key areas.
Children with additional needs will be cared for inclusively making sure that we can provide the specialist care needed for each child.

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
Welly Boot Lodge is committed to working with parents and carers to better support children. We will be monitoring each child's development by making daily observations within each area of the early years foundation stage. When observing children we can gather the evidence needed to support any sen concerns or additional needs the child may have.. We shall then highlight these concerns with the parents and work together to put the correct support in place. This may include adaptations within the setting, Adapting our teaching methods and working with other outside professionals.
2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
Welly Boot Lodge will provide each child with a learning journey to provide a book of evidence that will be shared at parents evenings with parents and carers. Welly Boot Lodge will provide 2 year old progress checks and two progress check reports. Welly Boot Lodge is committed to making any formal reports needed to help support children with additional needs including support plans.
3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
Welly Boot Lodge will be offering the Montessori resources for each are of learning thorough out the EYFS. Montessori resources are practical and sensorial and are an excellent ad for children with additional needs to have a hands on approach to their learning and development. Welly Boot Lodge will also adapt resources for children with additional needs and how the staff present the activities.

Welly Boot Lodge will provide support both educationally and with physical care providing that each child need's within the setting is being met. We shall always liaise with parents and make sure that needs are met on an individual basis.

Welly Boot Lodge will be making daily observations that will help to create termly long observations and progress checks. Termly reports, including termly parents meetings to discuss the development of each child.

Welly Boot Lodge promotes inclusiveness and will adapt to the needs of any child in our care.
8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
The Lodge is not accessibe to wheelchairs currently
9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
Welly Boot Lodge is committed to supporting children with transition to school. We will have group discussions upon what school life looks like, what we do at school and who will care for us at school. We shall invite the new school teacher to come and meet the child and their key adult. We shall help the new teacher to better understand the child and their needs by providing a full transition report on progress made within the EYFS. We shall help to create a transition picture book for each child and transport the child to their settling in days if this should be needed and we have the staff ratios to be able to.
10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
Welly Boot Lodge is a new setting however we take much pride in professional development and will endeavour to participate in ongoing training and professional development courses to support SEND.
We will ask for parents feedback and support and will work together with parents to provide the best ongoing care.
