'Speak To Power' Drama and Writing Sessions with Rank & File Theatre

Theatre is Life, Life is Theatre!

Rank & File Theatre is a Theatre of Sanctuary based in Reading, working with refugees, asylum seekers and people who experience disablement and or mental health challenges.

We are pleased to be starting 9 new weekly drama and writing sessions at South Street Arts Centre starting on Wednesday 11th October and running weekly until December 20th 2023. For the first phase of this new project 'Speak To Power' we will be focusing on writing stories based on our own personal experiences of climate change and displacement. Writing will be inspired by particular artefacts from The Museum of English Rural Life and Reading Museum. Limited spaces are available to people with refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds, and people who experience disability or mental health challenges. Stories written will be recorded at the Film, Television and Theatre Department at the University of Reading and installed as a relaxed audio tour for the Museums. We expect to continue this project in January 2024 and will be developing this written material into an exciting play made by our participants.

If you like writing and theatre and are passionate about the environment and having your voice heard then get in touch and book your place now!
