Reading Counsellors

Reading Counsellors is a fellowship of therapeutic counsellors who share a deep-seated commitment to raising our community's mental health, one client at a time.  We work from a number of locations in and around Reading, and we try to be as accessible as possible in terms of both travel and cost.

As counsellors, our role is to support you as you explore difficult emotions and situations, and to help you understand why you feel, think and behave the way you do.

We don't give advice; there's no telling you what to do or how to live your life.  Instead, we try to help you reach your own conclusions, your own decisions, and in so doing help you have control of your own existence.  This can often mean making changes in life, and we will aid you in making those changes.

All our counsellors are experienced professionals who offer safe, nonjudgmental environments in which you can learn to be who you truly are.

using this service?
We currently operate a two-tier fee structure. Our standard rate is £30 per fifty-minute session. If, however, you can demonstrate that you receive certain benefits (e.g. Jobseeker's Allowance, Pension Credit, Carer's Allowance, Personal Independence Payment), this is reduced to £20 per session. Please feel free to get in touch with any queries, or discuss the issue with your counsellor. Whichever rate applies to you, all fees must be paid in advance. We accept cash or cheque. We can also accept payment via Paypal, but these transactions will be an additional £5.
