Description
My setting is a home from home setting, I have been registered since 1996 and work weekdays only. I am NVQ level 3 qualified.
The bathroom in the setting is upstairs.

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?
Via communication with parents/ other care givers, all about me and observations.
2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
Working together and feedback with one another.
3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
Following children's interests, individual planning, advice from professionals where necessary and using observations to create next steps and adapt routines.
4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
Working together with parents and all professionals involved with that child, needs of the child, tailored teaching resources/tools for the child.
I have previously completed Makaton Training.
5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
Working with other professionals, signposting parents to agencies who can offer support and advice.
6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
Daily communication, 2 year check, creation of next steps, using the Early Years outcomes/ development matter.
7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
Use of daily risk assessment, having a wide range of adaptable resources and activities so all children can be included.
8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
Access through front door, however bathroom is upstairs only.
Potty Training and Nappy changing can all be done downstairs.
9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
Talking about school/setting, including use of books and pictures.
Visit with the child (if requested)
Sharing information/ formal meeting.
10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
Getting feedback from parents/ caregivers.
11: Who should I contact if I am considering registering for a place at the setting?
Please contact myself.
12: What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?
Verbal feedback welcome at all times, references available to view from parents/ ex-parents.
