SUN group (service user netowrk)
Peer support group for individuals struggling with parts of your personality such as impulsivity, self-worth and relationships. You may or may not have a formal diagnosis of a personality disorder.
You must be aged 18 and over, live in Berkshire, and be registered with a GP in Berkshire.
You can join SUN whether you have a formal personality disorder diagnosis or not, even if you’re being supported by another service.
You can access and self-refer yourself to us.
Peer support groups
We offer support through peer groups, which means people helping others by using their own experiences as a guide for others.
All our group members are valued as experts because of their experiences. Becoming part of our groups means you can get the support you need and have the opportunity to help others by sharing your own experiences.
Our service is suitable if you’re comfortable talking with others in group settings.
We do this through several different ways, such as:
- Supporting you to learn the different coping skills that can help you through difficult times
- Introducing you to support groups in communities across Berkshire
- Guiding you to other services we work with if we think it will help you if required
In each group we’ll ask you to check in and check out, which will help us better understand how you’re feeling what you hope to get from the sessions each time you attend.
In your first two sessions we’ll support you to develop a crisis and support plan.
Please get in touch if you would like to try a group session with us.
