I am an Ofsted registered childminder caring for children 0-8. I am NVQ3 qualified and have years of experience working in childcare. I have 2 children of my own and offer an open and happy environment with a secure garden for the children to play in. I attend local parks and groups to keep the children stimulated as well as offering a wide range of learning resources. I am very flexible and can work around shifts and different hours needed.

1: How does the setting identify children with additional needs or SEND?

Using knowledge of the early Yeras Foundation stage appropriate assesments will be completed on children cared for within this setting. 

2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?

Parent reviews will take place regularly as well as chats at the begining and end of the day. Also copies of all assesments made will be shared with the parents. 

3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?

All equipment, toys and activities provided will be within the development stage that the child is working at, giving them the opportunity to progress forward.  

5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?

using experience from working with children with different types of additional needs I will support all children where needed, still encouraging progression and independence. 

6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?

Monitoring children by updating progress sheets and making observations and linking them to the EYFS, then recomending next steps to continue progress. 

7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?

Diversity and inclusion is paramount to the setting for all children, trating everyone the same and providing activities that are fun and acheveable for everyone. Completing risk assessments for trips and outings keeping everyone safe. 

8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?

Although there are steps into the house and garden, all can be adapted if needed. There is a downstairs bathroom and all play equipmwnt is on one level. 

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?

Using information from the setting, make books or look at photos. Help by talking to the child about changes and what will happen. Aid in visits to the new setting. 

10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?

By using parent serveys, evaluating servise provided using comments from the parents and other profesionals.
