Reading Mencap - Gateway Club

Reading Mencap

Gateway Club is a friendly, lively social club for adults with a learning disability. It meets on a Tuesday evening and gives members the chance to try new activities in a friendly, supportive environment.

Activities are chosen by the people who attend Gateway Club. Indoor activities, which take place at our centre in Alexandra Road, Reading include cooking, art and crafts, watching movies and indoor sports – playing pool is a favourite.

The club also gets out and about and enjoys trips to the pub, bowling and rounders in the park. When funding allows there are special events, such as a trip down the Thames, a summer BBQ and Christmas party.

Gateway Club meets on a Tuesday evening from 7.15pm – 9.15pm. The cost is £3 per session. It closes over the summer for a six week break and will return on Tuesday 5 September.
