Englefield Garden Centre

Works in partnership with Affinity Trust to support people with learning disabilities providing work opportunities and Horticultural workshop sessions, the workshops are on a Monday and Wednesday 10-15 you can do as little as two hours or the whole session.
As part of the workshops they are supported with filling pots with compost, pricking out plugs and planting seeds for the nursery, de-weeding and redressing compost in plant pots, gaining awareness around Horticultural skills. Interacting with other people we support that join the sessions. Depending on the person skills and ability these tasks can be adapted to meet their needs and aspirations giving them the oppertunity to develop further.
We have themed workshops around Easter and Christmas etc and supported to be involved with creating display’s and patio planters, taking part in the nursery and maintaining the garden areas.
