NHS Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is a group of GP practices in Berkshire West. The CCG was established on 1 April 2018, following the merger of Newbury, Wokingham, North and West Reading and South Reading CCGs.
The CCG is made up of member GP Practices across the whole locality, serving a population of 528,000 people. It is responsible for planning and purchasing your local health services. Commissioning is the process of assessing local health needs, identifying the services required to meet those needs and then buying those services from a wide range of healthcare providers, which can include hospitals, community-based services, ambulance services and a variety of voluntary and community sector organisations.
