Age UK Berkshire's Information & Advice team provide information and advice on everything of interest and concern to older people
We offer a comprehensive information and advice service based in our offices in central Reading, in London Street.
We provide essential information and expert advice on a wide variety of topics of interest or concern to people in later life, their family, friends and carers.
All of our information and advice services are free of charge to you.
And if we don’t know the answer, we’ll know someone who will and we can find out for you.
We work with people in later life across the whole of Berkshire, but if you live elsewhere and have older family or friends in Reading or elsewhere in Berkshire who may benefit from our assistance, please get in touch with us.
The Information & Advice team can answer your questions live between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm Monday to Thursday. We have some availability outside of those times, but please contact us to find out more.
Please feel free to visit us in Reading, although it's always best to make an appointment; call us on 0118 959 4242 (you may have to leave a message at busy times, and we'll call you right back).
Please email us outside of those times or if that's your preferred method of contact.
We always reply to your messages within two working days, usually much sooner.
If you want to know more about what benefits you may be entitled to, if you have questions about pensions, health, housing, transport, home safety or you want to find out about leisure and other activities in your area, please contact our Information & Advice team as shown.
We can supply any of the almost 100 printed Guides and Factsheets ranging from residential and home care services to leisure opportunities, from the Age UK extensive library of information and resources. The library is maintained and available to all older people across Berkshire and to other organisations, including private, independent, public and voluntary groups.
There is no charge for small quantities of Factsheets, but we do have to make a charge for postage for substantial quantities supplied to organisations.
You can always come to our offices and collect any Factsheets, Guides or leaflets, but it's best to call us first just to make sure we have the ones you want. You can also download all the Age UK Factsheets, Guides and leaflets from the national Age UK website: www.ageuk.org.uk
