GoingCarFree.com - Advice for people who need to stop driving due to health and frailty.

GoingCarFree.com is a travel awareness campaign delivered by Wessex DriveAbility, with funding from the Department for Transport, that seeks to give information and advice to people who are giving up driving for any reason to help them get around more easily, using a range of different travel choices and options.
We can help over the phone, by email or in person at our offices as well as online.
Drivers today can stay behind the wheel safely for longer, thanks to better health, mobility and adaptions. Driving ability, rather than age, is what matters on the roads. But for all of us, there may come a time when we are no longer able to drive.
Our free resources provide you with information about as many transport alternatives as possible so you can find the right ones to suit you.
Stopping driving also doesn’t mean having to lose your independence but it may mean that how you socialise and connect with people may change. We can help you to find out what’s going on in your local community and how to deal with any concerns you may have about becoming isolated or lonely as a result of stopping driving.
