The Little Owl Pre-School

The Little Owl Pre-School has been running in the Reading area for many years. We are currently situated on Northcourt Avenue in the Scout and Guide Headquarters. We cater for up to 28 children daily aged from two to five years. Sessions are available during term time, Monday - Friday, 9:30 – 12:30. We accept 2yr old and 3/4yr old funding up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.

We offer a free-flow environment for the children, meaning they can move freely between play areas, inside and outside and lead their play and learning through their own ideas and choices. We have a large garden with lots of play equipment, and a wooded area for getting close to nature.

We are a multi-cultural setting and welcome families from all backgrounds and with English as an additional language.

Please contact us to find out more and to arrange a visit.

This setting has signed up to offer Tax Free Childcare.

Notes

We have a large, secure private garden where we encourage children to be physically active and learn through contact with nature. Our indoor learning space encourages independence, as children have free access to books, creative media, role-play and construction equipment. There is plenty of space to allow freedom of movement which facilitates concentration and communication. We are passionate about children’s creativity and are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.  We use aspects of this philosophy in our work with children.

We offer very flexible session options: your child may start with one or two sessions a week and gradually build up to more should you choose.
