The Little Owl Pre-School

Setting OPEN and accepting new admissions.

The Little Owl Pre-School (formerly The University of Reading Pre-School) is one of the longest running pre-schools in the area: in 2016 we  moved from the University into our current setting on Northcourt Avenue.

We accommodate up to 28 children aged from two to five years. Sessions are available up to five mornings a week during school terms: 9:30 – 12:30. We sometimes run a lunch club on Tuesdays and Thursdays (subject to enough demand) but this is not currently on offer.

Please contact us to find out more and to arrange a visit.

This setting has signed up to offer Tax Free Childcare.

Where to go

Reading Scout & Guide Headquarters
Northcourt Avenue

We have a large, secure private garden where we encourage children to be physically active and learn through contact with nature. Our indoor learning space encourages independence, as children have free access to books, creative media, role-play and construction equipment. There is plenty of space to allow freedom of movement which facilitates concentration and communication. We are passionate about children’s creativity and are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.  We use aspects of this philosophy in our work with children.

We offer very flexible session options: your child may start with one or two sessions a week and gradually build up to more should you choose.
