Each 'Key person' can identify their children's additional needs through the careful monitoring of each child's development progress.
2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
If your child has additional needs you will have regular meetings with the 'Key person' and nursery SENCo, you may also be asked to meet with any other outside agencies who are involved in supporting your child.

We will adapt the EYFS curriculum to suit your child's development needs and undertake further training if needed and where possible.
4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
We will take advice from outside agencies and work with your child to enable them to progress with their learning and development.
We have previously implemented picture routines, a sensory area, used simple Makaton and when required provided 1:1 support where possible with the correct funding and diagnosois in place.
5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
We have a well-trained team of professional nursery staff who will support all children with their development and learning, including those with additional needs and SEND. We are happy to work with outside agencies to help support the child further.

9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
During a transition period between new settings or schools we work closely with parents/carers and the new setting. We seek to make appointments with the child’s new 'teacher' in order to discuss the child’s development and needs. Where possible, we arrange visits with the child and their 'Key person' to visit the new setting to make the transition as smooth as possible.
10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
We actively ask parents for their opinions on how the nursery is working for them and what areas they feel work well, need improving and any new ideas they may have. We also undertake SEN audits from RBC Early Years and insure we are up to date with training.

Rebecca Croft, Nursery Manager or Louise Wye, Nursery Deputy Manager on 0118 9044638
12: What arrangements does the setting have for feedback from parents / carers, including compliments and complaints?
We have an office open door policy and actively encourage parents to see us if they have any worries or concerns. We have a Compliments, Comments and Complaints Policy in place and displayed for parents to see. We also have an exit questionnaire parents are asked to complete.
