By looking out for signs of concern and how they interact with children and their development. By looking and listening and observation of how the child response to situation or new people.
2: How will I be informed / consulted about the ways in which my child is being supported?
By sharing all the positive about the child's learning behaviour. To ensure that the child is engaged in activities along children who do not have SEN
3: How will the setting adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for my child's needs?
By carrying out observation, assessment and planning of the children. Daily observation to give me a better understanding of the child individually.
4: What teaching strategies does the setting use for children with additional needs or learning difficulties?
By discussing with parents and carer if I have noticed any concerns. By working in partnership with the parent/carers . Discuss with the relevant external agencies use assessment tools and materials
5: What additional support does the setting provide for children with additional needs or SEND?
By creating a sense of safety by reassurance and opportunities to explore using learning support and sensory support
6: How will the setting monitor my child's progress and how will I be involved in this?
By tracking their developmental milestones, by sending home a weekly progress report to the parent/carer
7: How do you ensure children with additional needs or SEND can be included in the same activities as other children, including trips?
Having a plan in place for emergencies, consistences when applying rules, having an assistant, remind and rehearse them regularly and by using visual prompts when necessary
8: How accessible is the building for children with mobility difficulties / wheelchair users?
Have a space that is designed to be user friendly to everyone
9: How will you support my child's transition to a new setting or school?
Talk about the new setting, sharing stories about transition, encouraging independence, do role play, identify groups of children going to the same school and communication with parent/carer
10: How does the setting assess the overall effectiveness of its SEN provision and how can parents / carers take part in this evaluation?
Work in partnership with parents/carer , use observations,. Assess, plan, do and review. Parents/carers are involved by a cycle through informal and formal meetings
