Family Workers work within the Children's Action Teams (CATs).
They provide one to one support to families, or in a family group session. This is often in the home or can be in a safe community setting and will include supported visits to appointments or groups.
Family Workers work with families who are experiencing difficulties and in need of emotional support, supporting them to access the right services to meet this need - this could be improving their home organisation, their children's school attendance, or their parenting skills.
Family Workers support families with children and young people aged between 0 and 19 years. They will support children and young people aged 0-19 years with a special educational need or a disability.
