Reading 21 logo

Reading 21 is a comprehensive half marathon training programme, which prepares participants for Reading Half Marathon on 2 April 2023. The programme consists of:

  • Training plans designed for different levels of runners

  • Online workshops to explain half marathon strategy

  • Weekly running practices (in collaboration with “Reading HK Runners”)

  • Yoga classes designed for runners

Reading 21 is offered for up to 50 participants free of charge, as kindly sponsored by the Reading Borough Council. Runners of all levels, regardless of their enrollment in the Reading Half Marathon, are welcome to join. Priority will be given to new immigrants including Hong Kongers. Through the programme, we hope to empower participants to participate and complete a half marathon, enhance physical and mental wellbeing, and make new friends in the community.

Reading 21’s head coach Harry Loasby was a former member of the Hong Kong national team, the current Hong Kong national record holder of 3000m. Harry founded his running club BuffCo and dedicated in training runners from all walks of lives.
