What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a special way of paying attention to the present moment which helps you cope better with everyday life and deal with difficult times, by giving you power over your thinking and emotions, using self-understanding and self-acceptance through practical meditation techniques. It is a gentle and effective way of overcoming a wide range of psychological and behavioural problems including depression, anxiety, stress, impulsivity, anger, pain, unhealthy attachments and addictions.
We practice various meditation techniques and reflect on our experience of them together. But the real learning happens when we try to follow the practices at home in between the sessions. Mindfulness in our daily lives and the difference this can make to our everyday experience.
