Route to Recruit - Supported Internships - support to get into paid employment

Route to Recruit logo

DO YOU WANT TO LEARN THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET A PAID JOB?

A supported internship is a college course mainly carried out in a work placement, usually for three days a week with one day a week in college.  You would have the support of a Job Coach to learn the tasks and skills involved in that job and at the end of the programme the Job Coach would support you to find paid work.

Do you want to build the skills to get employment?

Do you find learning in the classroom difficult?  do you learn by doing?

Are you 16 to 24 with special educational needs and an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP)?

Then a Supported Internship could be right for you

What our supported internship offers

  • The chance to learn new skills, specifically skills that employers are looking for
  • The chance to become more independent and confident
  • The chance to try different jobs roles in the workplace with the help of a Job Coach
  • Support at the end of the internship to try and secure paid employment

How our internship works

  • You will be enrolled at a college or school but only attend 1 day a week learning essential life and job skills
  • 3 or 4 days of the week you will be in a work placement, learning on the job
  • The internship runs in line with the academic year, from September to July
  • We have placements all over Berkshire
