SEND Short Breaks February Half Term - with Make Sense Theatre

Make Sense logo

At Make/Sense Theatre is pleased to be bringing back our popular holiday clubs this February Half Term. These will be running from Monday 12th February to Thursday 15th February and, as always, we aim to provide something for everyone!

Our sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings are for primary aged children aged 4-11 who may have a diagnosis of ASD or similar and will benefit from a calm, sensory approach to a drama workshop. This is designed for those who struggle in a busy and loud environment but like interactive theatre, drama games, music and movement, messy play and song. The attendees of this group may require 1:1 support in order to engage with the activities, which we will be able to provide for a limited number of attendees.

Our sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons are for young people aged 11+ with autism and/or multiple and complex needs, who would enjoy a sensory, creative experience. This group will be staffed so that attendees can have a trained 1:1 to help them engage. We incorporate different strands of creative sensory exploration to this group including our current 7Sense multi sensory show, sensory art, messy play and live music and movement. Soft lighting, calming music and break out space will help to regulate attendees.

Finally, our session on Thursday is an all day session for our MLD groups, who are ready to get creative, socialise, explore different strands of theatre including music and movement, and are happy in a busy, noisy, action-packed environment!
