The Old Vicarage Residential Care Home
The Old Vicarage is a beautiful property, parts of which date back to the 17th Century (it has a Grade 2 listing). It is situated in a residential setting close to the centre of the picturesque town of Hungerford.
The Old Vicarage provides very high quality residential care and support for adults with learning disabilities, challenging behaviours and mental health issues. The home is part of the Oakview Care group which is a family run business consisting of three services situated in Berkshire and Carmarthenshire, Wales.
The Old Vicarage is registered for 12 service users of mixed gender. The main house has eight spacious rooms with en-suite facilities. Adjacent to the house are three annexed cottages, two of which provide single, self contained accommodation; the other offers two bedroomed accommodation. The home was previously used as the vicarage for St Lawrence’s, the parish church of Hungerford next door and was converted to a home for adults with learning disabilities in 2001.
This impressive property is within walking distance of Hungerford's many shops and the beautiful countryside that surrounds the town. Situated in large grounds, the home is very spacious both inside and out. The gardens are secluded and the home is accessed via a quiet lane.
A multi-functional activities centre is located within the grounds providing space and facilities for many educational, leisure and relaxation activities. Additionally service users are able to make use of raised beds, vegetable gardens, a large polytunnel and a sensory garden.
