Sibs - For Brothers & Sisters of disabled children & adults
Sibs exists to support people who grow up with or have grown up with a disabled brother or sister. It is the only UK charity representing the needs of over half a million young siblings and over one and a half million adult siblings.
Helping young siblings cope with feelings
It is completely normal for young siblings to have mixed feelings about life with their brother or sister. Our Young Sibs website has lots of information and tips for helping siblings whether they feel happy, sad, guilty or proud. Check out the Your Feelings page here written for young siblings aged 7-17.
It can also be hard for parents to help young siblings cope with their feelings too. Acknowledging siblings’ feelings can go a long way in helping children and young people feel heard. Check out our parent area on our website here for more advice and tips.
