The ACRE Family Support Team (formerly Alafia)
Supporting black and minority ethnic families with a child (0-25) with additional needs or disabilities.
Alafia works in partnership with local statutory, voluntary and community organisations to facilitate access to services by BME families in Reading. We offer advice and advocacy support to our members, empowers members to participate in relevant health and social care forums and provide a relaxed environment aimed at reducing isolation, enhancing life skills and improving well-being of our members.
- They offer Home visiting and a short breaks service.
- A monthly support group
- A Tuesday tea & coffee club drop in 11.30-1pm . We will have a cognitive behavioural therapist available every Tuesday for support and more. If you would like to find out more please contact us.
