Waterloo Meadows Holiday Playclub

Due to the latest government guidance regarding school closures and the need to support key workers, Reading Play will be running Waterloo Meadows Holiday play club childcare service for key workers only. We will not be running Green Park or The Hill play club until further notice in the holiday periods to allow the service to support provision for key workers at Waterloo Meadows. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Play refunds and credits

We will be issuing refunds or credits for future clubs depending on your preference. We will be contacting parents with existing bookings and we encourage parents to email us at reading.play@reading.gov.uk for advice or further information.

We offer full childcare Monday to Friday throughout half terms, Easter and Summer holidays across the year. We work on a one to eight staff to child ratio.

Children attending a full day or short day should bring a packed lunch.

Day to day activities include art and crafts, games and sports; such as create a cuddly toy, magnet designs, painting, drawing, modelling and colouring activities. Children are welcome to take home the work they produce. We play indoor and outdoor group games, and sports such as football, badminton and tennis. We always provide a quiet area, which is a place for children to relax and read books.

In Easter and Summer holidays we provide additional specialist activities for the clubs. Some recent examples include, circus skills, archery, exotic animals, climbing wall and go-karts.

We also organise trips out to museums, parks, cinema, and the theatre. These trips will require additional costs if your child wishes to attend.

We hope this gives you an idea of what you and your child/ren can expect from us, please feel free to contact us if you have any queries.

We now accept Tax-Free Childcare payments for sessions at our Holiday Playclubs. For more information, please visit the Tax-Free Childcare section of the Reading Play website.

Children Requiring Additional Support
Reading Play operate mainstream settings and may need to limit places based on our ratio requirements. If a SEND is highlighted in our booking process we may request an Additional Support Form to be completed prior to attending the setting. This allows the teams to make a judgement and communicate with the parent on what support we could provide. The Additional Support Form can be found under 'Documents' on this page.
