Reading Water Festival – 4th June
Reading Water Fest on Saturday 4th June this year to coincide with the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. The event takes place in the Forbury Gardens, Abbey Ruins and along the Kennet, between Chestnut Walk and the Riverside Museum between 11am and 5pm.
The event will consist of live entertainment, children’s activities and refreshments, water activities, narrow boats, craft and charity stalls. Reading Water Festival 4th June 2022

SEND May Half Term Short Breaks - Make Sense Theatre
As an inclusive theatre company, we aim to provide exciting and engaging short breaks for SEND young people with all abilities, including young people with complex/high needs.
Complex Needs/PMLD/PASD/SLD (Profound Autistic Spectrum Disorder)(Severe Learning Disabilities) Engaging workshops for young people with complex needs/PMLD including multi-sensory theatre and live music and singing with the Make/Sense team and sessions with Berkshire Maestros.

Free Disability Cricket - Berkshire Cricket Foundation
A new disability hub launches at Bulmershe Leisure Centre on Wednesday 30th March 5-6pm
The session is completely FREE and will run every week for the foreseeable and is suitable for anyone between the ages of 12-25. Myself Chris Baker will be the coach at the session, and we will have volunteers to support the participants.

Museums, My Way
FREE SESSIONS DEVELOPED WITH AUTISM BERKSHIRE
Reading Museum and The Museum of English Rural Life are recently launched ‘Museums, My Way’, a new series of sessions for neurodiverse visitors of all ages.
These sessions, developed with Autism Berkshire, provide a safe environment to explore the museums at times when they are usually closed to the public or are less busy. There are facilitated activities on themes inspired by the museums’ collections, and a quiet break-out space. Siblings, families, carers and friends are all welcome.
This session will be on the theme of ‘Biscuits and Food’ and will includes
- reduced volume of gallery interactive sounds
- sensory backpacks and ear defenders
- break out spaces
- themed facilitated hands-on activity
- themed gallery trail
All activities are optional and you can visit at any point within the event times.
The Next session will take place at the MERL on May 30th 10am-2pm
And then at Reading Museum on Wednesday 11th June 2022, 3-5 pm.
