Engage Befriending - Covid 19 Response

COVID-19 RESPONSE:

Offering a telephone befriending service for people living alone, including younger people, who would appreciate a regular telephone call whilst they are in isolation.

Operating 5 hrs a day, with back up support 7 days a week.

Christmas and new year closure dates: 23/12/2020 - 03/01/2021 - although arrangements are being made to maintain contact with existing clients during the closure

We provide home visits for isolated older people living in Reading Borough. These visits are usually arranged on a weekly basis and last for around one hour. We also encourage the people we befriend to engage in other local activities where possible. All our volunteers complete training, have a DBS check and are asked to provide references.
